Jordan and I have been busy lately! He is still not back to work full-time, so we are making the most out of the unexpected extra days off we have together. We’ve spent a weekend in Marseille, a weekend exploring the Burgundy region, and this weekend are planning on going to Toulouse! The excitement of being able to travel for long weekends will be short lived as Jordan goes back to work 4.5 days next week, and will be back to full-time by the end of June. We are so excited for him to get back to work and start working on the projects he was sent to France to do.
France has also made progress in it’s deconfinement post COVID-19 and we are now moving towards phase three, where international borders are open! The virus cases continue to trend downwards in France and the country remains confident about reopening. We are now able to leave France and travel within the Schengen zone. We don’t have to quarantine if we stay within this zone, except if we were to go to Spain or the UK. If we went to those countries we would be required to quarantine for two weeks. We are going to stay away from visiting there for now! The goal is to hopefully travel to a different country in the next few weeks. We have our prefecture appointment next week for our residency card and would feel much more comfortable leaving France having this card in hand.
Since Jordan was working on Monday for the first time in a few months, I had the chance to spend the day uploading photos to the blog to share of our recent travels. I created a new section on the blog, cleverly titled “Photos” and have specific pages for everywhere we have visited so far. This will be a good place for us to keep track of where we’ve been and how many places we have visited at the end of our journey!

Check out my new photos page here! The majority of the photos are unedited and were taken on my iPhone 11. Jordan is the photographer in this family, not me! I will share some of his photos once he has some free time to edit them.
I also try to post on Instagram at @planestrainsandshanes on a regular basis if you are interesting in hearing from us more frequently. Hope you enjoy!
Loved the photos page! You are making a lot of memories that you will be able to enjoy again and again through this blog. Nice to know restaurants were open again and you could try so much. I’m with Jordan. No snails forme please!
Thank you! It will be a great way for us to hopefully look back on and remember all the things we’ve been able to do. Restaurants are open, and borders opened yesterday. We are going to try to go to Italy or Switzerland in the next few weeks. I’ll let Jordan know he has a fellow ally in the no snail club! I think my parents really like them.
Great post 😁
