Pérouges is an old medieval town about 20 miles from Lyon, France perched high on a hill. There is so much charm in Pérouges. During the first phase of deconfinement when we were only able to travel within a 100 mile radius, we chose to spend an afternoon here walking around its cobblestone roads. This town used to be a big textile hub, but then roads were rerouted and the residents moved out of the city during the 1800’s. Major efforts were made to preserve and restore the city starting in the 1900’s and it’s a gorgeous step back in time today.
